Proteins (LASPs) with a LIM domain and an SH3 domain that are overexpressed in breast and ovarian cancer. LASP2 (LIM/nebulette) is a splice variant of nebulin. Both proteins are ubiquitously expressed and involved in cytoskeletal architecture, especially in the organization of focal adhesions. LASP-1 is involved in neuronal differentiation and plays a role in the migration and proliferation of certain cancer cells; LASP-2 is more structural.
