A report written on behalf of the Club of Rome by Dennis and Donella Meadows in 1971. Using dynamic computer models of various possible future scenarios for world growth it predicted that serious natural resource scarcity would follow if world population and resource use continued to grow. It had a significant impact on attitudes towards the environment, and on the development of modern environmentalism. See also neo‐Malthusian, sustainable development.
