If A and B are two points on a straight line, the part of the line between and including A and B is a line segment. This may be denoted by AB or BA. (The notation AB may also be used with a different meaning, as a real number, the measure of on a directed line.) Some authors use ‘line segment’ to mean a directed line-segment.
