(lipoidosis) n. ( pl.lipidoses) any disorder of lipid metabolism within the cells of the body. The brain lipidoses (see Gaucher’s disease, Hunter’s syndrome, Hurler’s syndrome, Tay-Sachs disease) are inborn defects causing the accumulation of lipids within the brain.
