Quick Reference

Lovely jubbly expressing delight or affirmation, especially in response to an anticipated success. The phrase derives ultimately from lubbly Jubbly, a 1950s advertising slogan for Jubbly, an orange-flavoured soft drink; it was recoined in the BBC television series Only Fools and Horses (1981–96) as a characteristic expression of Derek Trotter, or ‘Del Boy’, a Peckham market trader.
