Quick Reference

A material that bonds, seals, or cements objects together, such as the thin layer of cement between a tooth preparation and an artificial crown. A luting cement should have low solubility, low viscosity, and high fracture resistance; examples are zinc phosphate, glass ionomer, and resin-based adhesives.
