Maurist scholar. He entered the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Rémy at Reims in 1653, but in 1664 was sent to Saint-Germain-des-Prés to help edit texts. Probably the most erudite of the Maurists, he produced some 20 folio works, including editions of St Bernard and of various important liturgical documents.
