Is the preferred way of managing people that has been adopted either by an individual or by the whole organization or a department within the organization. For instance, at the individual level the managerial grid is a tool for assessing individual management styles based on the balance between a manager's concern for people and for operations. At the organizational level, management and industrial relations theorists, such as John Purcell and Keith Sisson, have sought to identify styles of managing employee relations based on the extent to which individualism or collectivism is emphasized.
