A deviation of the teeth or a malrelationship of the dental arches outside the accepted range of normal. It may be the result of an abnormal jaw size, malformed teeth, missing teeth, supernumerary teeth, retained, impacted or unerupted teeth, macrodontia, microdontia, developmental abnormalities such as cleft lip or palate, or environmental factors such as digit sucking and trauma.
