(b Béthune, c.1510; d Madrid, 5 Oct. 1564). Franco-Flemish composer. In 1539 he was director of the choir at Tours Cathedral, and by 1545 was maître de chapelle at Tournai Cathedral. He also served as canon at Arras before moving to the Flemish chapel of Philip II in Madrid in 1559. His works include many masses and motets, and over 50 chansons in both elegiac and satirical styles.
