Overview

mannosidase

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

Enzymes that hydrolyse the glycosidic bond between mannose residues and a variety of hydroxyl-containing groups. α-Mannosidases (EC 3.2.1.113) remove four mannose residues during the synthesis of the complex-type N-linked glycan chains of glycoproteins as they pass from rough endoplasmic reticulum into the cis-Golgi. β-Mannosidase (EC 3.2.1.25) is a lysosomal enzyme that catalyses the final exoglycosidase step in the degradation pathway for N-linked oligosaccharide moieties of glycoproteins.
