Italian architect. He worked with Carlo Fontana in Rome from 1678. His importance lies in his influence on the Baroque style in Central Europe, notably with the Stadtpalais (Town Palace) Liechtenstein, Vienna (1692–1705), which includes an elaborate staircase, and was as a whole derived from Bernini's Chigi-Odescalchi Palace, Rome. He probably designed the Palais Harrach (c.1690), the Gartenpalais (Garden Palace) Liechtenstein, Vienna (1694–1711), and the Kaunitz Palace, Slavkov (Austerlitz), where he introduced the cour d'honneur (from 1698—only partially completed).
