The world's premier cricket club. The MCC was founded in 1787 by a group of noblemen and based at Thomas Lord's ground in Dorset Square, London. It replaced the Hambledon Cricket Club as the country's leading club and governed the game for 182 years until control passed to the Cricket Council in 1969.
