Quick Reference

A member of the TACC (transforming acidic coiled-coil) domain protein family, found in Xenopus laevis oocytes and embryos. It is apparently required for microtubule anchoring at the centrosome and has been reported to mediate translational repression of cyclin B1 mRNA, although the ‘maskin hypothesis’ for transcriptional control is being questioned by some authors (2008).
