Quick Reference

(1687–1766). Venetian architect, he designed the Chiesa dei Gesuati (Santa Maria del Rosario—1725–36), elements of which are derived from Palladio's Il Redentore, but with Rococo elements. The Church is positioned diagonally across the Giudecca from Il Redentore. He designed (1735) Santa Maria della Pietà, completed Longhena's Palazzo (Ca') Rezzonico (1748–66), and designed the Palazzo Grassi (1748–60) with its sober Neo-Classical façade and plan containing a four-columned atrium.
