Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A DNA sequencing method in which DNA is degraded, in a set of independent, nucleotide-specific reactions, to produce fragments with characteristic sizes that can be resolved on a sequencing gel. Maxam–Gilbert sequencing has advantages, e.g. for oligonucleotides or covalently modified DNA, although dideoxy sequencing is more commonly used.
