Quick Reference

Used dressings, bandages, surplus blood and tissues from laboratory tests, used hypodermic needles, vials that contained injectable medications, etc. Much of this is hazardous waste and must be safely and securely disposed. It is often incinerated, but this requires special high-temperature methods if correctly done because regular low-temperature incineration may release toxic dioxins, furans, and other dangerous emission products.
