A subsidiary form of air mass, characterized by significant warming of maritime polar, mP (or even maritime Arctic, mA) air that penetrates to the Mediterranean region. The resulting instability gives rise to depressions with very heavy precipitation on the warm front, and intense showers and thunderstorms behind the cold front.
