Tableaux in three scenes, with choreography and libretto by Massine, music by Satie, and designs by Picasso. Premiered 15 Jun. 1924, at the Soirées de Paris, Théâtre de la Cigale. The ballet's mythological subject matter was given a fashionably avant-garde treatment but Picasso's Cubist decor was deemed to have been more successful than the Massine choreography. Diaghilev took it into his company in 1927, although it was rarely performed.
