(1689–1754). Italian architect. Influenced by Guarini, he designed several churches in the vicinity of Turin, including the Parish Church at Barone (1729–39), San Giacomo, Rivarolo Canavese (1728–33), and Santa Marta in Agliè (1739–60). The last is an extraordinary example of complex geometries with three internal volumes (a hexagon contained by convexes and concaves instead of straight lines, a square contained by convex shapes, and a circle), and is an exceptional late-Baroque masterpiece.
