(MEM)

A device for measuring the rate at which an exposed rock surface is lowered, perhaps by weathering, consisting of a gauge that records the extension of a probe. The unit is placed on three studs, set in the rock surface to provide a reference level, and the extension of the probe provides a measure of erosion.
