Quick Reference

A part of a Web site that has its own URL. Normally the microsite is set up for some special event, offer or service. For example an online retailer may decide to expand its product range from clothing to shoes; a good strategy would be for that retailer to have a separate URL that that represented the address of the shoe sales part of its web site. Sometimes known as a Minisite.
