Quick Reference

Known as ‘Measure Miller’ from his habit of noting the size of books with a ruler, Miller had a particular interest in early English and Scottish books, and bought heavily at the Heber sales. His library passed to his cousin Samuel Christie-Miller (1810–89); much of it was subsequently sold to the Huntington Library.
