The ceramics factory founded in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in 1796, by Thomas Minton. Many of the products were richly decorated in a variety of historical styles, such as maiolica and Sèvres. New materials and decorative techniques were introduced, such as Parian ware, pâte-sur-pâte, and majolica. Extremely elaborate creations were often exhibited throughout the 19th century, from the Great Exhibition of 1851 onwards.
