Quick Reference

A standard formula for the estimation of a missing datum observation (or, with suitable modification, the estimation of several missing values) in the analysis of the variance of data collected according to a recognized experimental design. The missing observation (ij) may be estimated as: ij = tT´j + bB´jG´/(t − 1) (b − 1), where T´i, bB´j, and are the treatment, block, and grand totals for the available observations, i is the ith treatment, j is the jth block, t is the number of treatments, and b is the number of blocks.
