Quick Reference

Moore was born at Knaptoft, Leicestershire, probably in 1595; the date assumes that he is the John Moore who graduated from Exeter College, Oxford in 1617 at the age of twenty-two. He was appointed rector of Knaptoft in 1637, following in the footsteps of his father who had held this position until 1610. In 1647 he also became rector of Lutterworth.
