Abnormal plasma cells containing Mott bodies or Russell bodies, rough endoplasmic reticulum-derived vesicles containing immunoglobulins of the IgM class. Found in lymphoid tissues in autoimmune diseases, in multiple myeloma, and in the late stages of African trypanosomiasis.
