Quick Reference

A triple bill choreographed by Mark Morris to piano music by Mozart. Premiered 17 Aug. 2006 by Mark Morris Dance Group at New York State Theatre, with costumes by Martin Pakledinaz and scenic design by Howard Hodgkin. The three linked works feature sixteen dancers and are called Eleven, Double, and Twenty-Seven after their scores (Piano Concerto No. 11, Sonata for Two Pianos in D, and Piano Concerto No. 27). Typically with Morris the choreography is a detailed response to the music, which carries fleeting suggestions of character and story.

Subjects: Dance.
