Quick Reference

A 580-aa protein, deficient in mucolipidosis IV, that has homology to polycystin-2 and and to the family of transient receptor potential calcium channels. It is thought that mucolipin may be responsible for the calcium release involved in endocytic vesicle fusion and thus in lysosomal function.
