Muluku, the creator, made the earth.
He dug two holes; from one came a man and from the other a woman. He gave them land to cultivate along with tools, seed, and crockery. He told them to plant the seeds, to build a house, and to cook food. Instead, the man and woman chewed the raw seeds, spoiled and broke the crockery, discarded the tools, then went to the forest to hide. Muluku was annoyed. He summoned a male and female monkey, and gave them the same things he had given to the man and woman, and he gave them the same instructions. The two monkeys dug the earth, built a house, harvested the grain, and cooked it in the pots. They are the food off the plates Muluku had provided. The god was pleased. He cut off the monkeys' tails and stuck them onto the two disobedient humans, saying that they would be monkeys from now on, and the monkeys would be humans.
