Seventh-century self-proclaimed prophet. Contemporary and opponent of Muhammad. Referred to as “the liar” in early Islamic sources. Became militarily aggressive against Muslims after the death of Muhammad. Formed an alliance against Muslims with Sajah, a female religious leader of Banu Tamim. Defeated by Khalid ibn al-Walid in 634.
