A common colloquial term used to describe the condition of a person with well-developed muscles that limit the range of movement of a joint. The ligaments, tendons, and muscles touch the joint and restrict its movement. The idea that weight-training always results in a person becoming muscle-bound, is a myth. There is a risk of muscle bulk developing at the expense of joint mobility, only with a high-resistance, low-repetition exercise programme that does not incorporate a stretching routine.
