Ethnic group of southeastern Africa; also known as the Mwera.

The Mwere primarily inhabit Tanzania. Others live in Malawi and Mozambique. They speak a Bantu language and are closely related to the Yao people. Approximately 400,000 people consider themselves Mwere.
