Ballet in one act with choreography by MacMillan, music by Schoenberg and Webern, designs by Y. Sonnabend. Premiered 21 May 1978 by the Stuttgart Ballet with Cragun, Keil, Montagnon, and Reid Anderson. The ballet reveals the violent relationships between a brother and his five sisters, who live in a dangerous fantasy world. The ballet also features a mysterious figure known as He who haunts the background. MacMillan revived it for the Royal Ballet in 1980.
