A set of striated muscle-specific calcineurin-interacting proteins that colocalize with α-actinin, tether calcineurin to the sarcomere and may be important for the structural integrity of the Z-disc. Myozenin 1 (calsarcin, 2299 aa) is expressed only in adult fast skeletal muscle, myozenin 2 (calsarcin-1) is expressed specifically in adult cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle. Myozenin 3 (calsarcin 3) is restricted to skeletal muscle.
