The presence of myoglobin in the urine. It sometimes occurs following very heavy exercise when muscle cells break down exercise myoglobinuria and it is occasionally associated with carbohydrate loading. Myoglobinuria can lead to acute kidney failure if it persists. See also haemoglobinuria.
