(NCB)

A charitable organization whose aim is to improve the lives of children and young people, which includes ensuring their access to a sound education. The Bureau encompasses a multi‐agency network of semi‐independent organizations concerned with the education, health, and social care of young people. It operates in England and Northern Ireland, and works in partnership with the Scottish and Welsh organizations Children in Scotland and Children in Wales. Founded in 1963, it now also runs a network for young people themselves, Young NCB, which provides a forum for those under 18 to express their views on issues of concern to them, such as drug‐taking and bullying.
