A member of a family (Nck family) of small adaptor proteins with SH2 and SH3 domains that link receptor-mediated tyrosine phosphorylation with downstream regulators of actin dynamics. There are two isoforms, Nck1 (Nck-α, 377 aa) and Nck2 (Nck-β, Grb4, 380 aa), both widely distributed but with slightly different activities. Similar to Crk and Grb2.
