Quick Reference

A neuron-specific actin-binding protein (neural tissue-specific F-actin binding protein, spinophilin) that tethers protein phosphatase-1 to regions of actin-rich postsynaptic density and modulates its activity. Neurabin-1 (1095 aa) and spinophilin (neurabin-2, 817 aa) appear to have distinct roles, the latter being highly enriched in dendritic spines.
