Title of poem by Jehan Molinet which is combined with the Latin Requiem as text for the six‐part motet‐chanson La Déploration de la mort de Johannes (Jehan) Ockeghem by Josquin Desprès. Written and composed 1497 (Ockeghem died on 6 Feb., 1497). Text refers to several contemporary composers, incl. Josquin himself. Requiem chant is used as cantus firmus to principal setting.
