Quick Reference

A neuropeptide (orphanin FQ, 17 aa) that is the endogenous agonist of the G-protein-coupled receptor, opioid receptor-like-1, and mediates pain signals. It is derived from prepronociceptin which also gives rise to nocistatin. A fragment (amino acids 1–13) has the same potency as the full-sized protein.
