Samples taken from a suspect for evidential purposes. Under the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 as amended: a sample of hair (other than pubic hair); a sample taken from a nail or under a nail; a swab taken from any part of the body including the mouth but no other bodily orifice; saliva; a footprint or similar impression of any part of the body except the hand (which is dealt with by separate regulation).
