Born in Vannes (Brittany), from 1497 he worked in London and Westminster, first in association with Jean Barbier and ‘I. H.’ (possibly Jean Huvin). In 1498, de Worde commissioned a Salisbury Missal from him. Later, he independently produced the Golden Legend (1503), the Chronicles of England (1504, 1515), and smaller works in English and Latin.
