Quick Reference

A microtubule-binding protein (Numa1, formerly centrophilin, 2115 aa) that associates with the minus ends of spindle microtubules and appears to be important in spindle organization. It dissociates from condensing chromosomes during early prophase and becomes concentrated at the spindle pole; as mitosis progresses, it reassociates with telophase chromosomes during nuclear reformation.
