(1856–1910), publisher and Celticist [see translation from Irish]. Born in London, he was educated in England and on the continent. In 1878 he succeeded his father as head of the family firm, through which he promoted works in folklore and Celtic literature. He was also active in establishing the Irish Texts Society, whose productions he published.
