Surnamed Oisc, is reported by Bede as a son of Hengist, but by Nennius as a grandson. He is said to have succeeded as a king of Kent in 488 and ruled until 512. Welsh sources, calling him Aesc, claim that he was killed by Ambrosius Aurelianus (‘Emrys’) at Mons Badonis. The dynasty took the name of Oiscingas.
