(UNOOSA)

A United Nations (UN) office that is the secretariat for the UN's Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS). UNOOSA coordinates international discussions on the political and legal implications of the exploration of outer space, such as the 1968, 1982, and 1999 UN Conferences on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (named UNISPACE). UNOOSA also maintains a Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space and an index to the Status of United Nations Treaties Governing Activities in Outer Space. It has a Programme on Space Applications (PSA) and produces reports and publications on space science and technology applications, international space law, and international cooperation in space.
