(1871–1946). Literary journalist, novelist, and art critic. His early work for La Tribuna included important interviews with well-known Italian writers, such as Verga and D'Annunzio, which he then collected as Alla scoperta dei letterati (1895). From 1898 until the end of his life he wrote articles on culture and art criticism for the Corriere della sera, which were collected in the seven volumes of Cose viste (1924–39). He also wrote articles for the Illustrazione (1904–9), which he republished as I capricci del conte Ottavio (1909), incorporating the pseudonym under which they originally appeared in the title.
