Quick Reference

A procedure for testing the accuracy of an individual attempting to hit a single target. The successful attempts gain points and the misses count as errors. There are a number of variations: for example, in basketball, a basket made can score one point and a basket missed no points; or a clean shot may score four points, a rim shot that goes in four points, a rim shot that goes out two points, a shot that touches the basket one point, and a complete miss scores no points.
