New York tribe that belonged to the Iroquois Confederacy. The Onondaga aided the British in the French and Indian Wars and in the Revolution. Most of them have since lived in Ontario, although some remain on a New York reservation. They figure in Cooper's Wyandotté, and in the Littlepage Manuscripts an Onondaga is one of the heroes.
